Baia di ieranto

The path that leads to the Bay of Ieranto, an inlet on the coast, is certainly one of the most evocative of Massa Lubrense. The route, which allows visitors to reach the Bay along the south-west side of Monte San Costanzo, begins behind the small village of Nerano.
On the first half of the path the view will be limited to the beaches of Marina del Cantone; Further on, coming out from the hill, you will reach a point where you can admire the coast and its key elements to the west:
The Tower of Montalto (Waypoint 1) , the Bay of Ieranto and Punta Campanella
Halfway through the trail, there will be three different paths. One of these leads to the tower, the other two will both lead you to the Capitello's Beach. The only difference lies in the difficulty: the one on the left is a tourist route, which takes a bit longer, the one on the right is shorter but also a bit harder.
In the whole Bay it is possible to take a swim. Fishing activities are forbidden
In summer time it is not recommended to go up along the second route; the presence of numerous steps and the total absence of supports and shaded areas, increase the difficulty, expecially when the sun hits hard
